On the tenth day of Christmas…

…we have Warwick Sprawson in the spotlight. Nature lover, hiker, traveller and adventurer, Warwick, is also the author of the new guide book, The Overland Track.

What does Christmas mean to you?

Salt, sand, surf, family and roast beef.

What was your favourite Christmas present ever?

A yellow-handled hammer called ‘Max Power’.What was your worst Christmas present ever?

Talcum powder.

What book will you be reading this Christmas?

It depends on what Santa brings me (if anything).

Did you ever appear on Santa’s ‘naughty’ list…if so, what did you do?

It’s fairly complicated. It involved a cup of tea, a blocked toilet, industrial chemicals and a visiting plumber. The legal implications are still being resolved, so best not to talk about it just yet.

Did you ever sneak a peek at your Christmas presents?

What’s your favourite Christmas song?

‘I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas’, by Bing Crosby.

Have you ever kissed someone under the mistletoe?

What is this? Who Weekly?

What food do you always eat too much of at Christmas time?

Everything, basically. It’s the modern meaning of Christmas.

If you could invite 5 people to your Christmas dinner who would they be?

Mum, Dad, Sister, girlfriend and Elvis Presley. Party time.

Which reindeer is your favourite and why?

I liked Sporty. She looked fine in leg-warmers.

If you had your own reindeer what would you call it?

Sneezy. It’s a hay-fever thing.

What decoration do you put on the top of your Christmas tree?

Bert Newton.
